I’ve written about the new Justin Peter Kinkel-Schuster album Constant Stranger and about the new Wesley Randolph Eader album Highway Winds, but further praise is in order. I continuosly keep on returning to these songs and therefore I have to share them. First the The Dirt, the Bells and I that is a perfect ending to Justin Peter Kinkel-Schuster’s awesome record and after that Wesley Randolph Eader and Waitin’s What We Do. Both incredible songs from wonderful albums.

Jack Grelle – Got Dressed Up to Be Let Down

One more small blurb about great American songwriting for tonight, because I don’t know will I have any energy to write this during the weekdays. St.Louis-based Country / Americana songwriter Jack Grelle is someone that I actually just found last summer and his 2014 album Steering Me Away kept me company on my way to work and back several times back then. So I’m a very new fan, but I’m getting more and more hooked into his words and melodies as the days fly by. His new album Got Dressed Up to Be Let Down came out 28th of October on Big Muddy Recordings and I’m very fond of it. Here are the opening track Heart’s For Mine and the title track from the fabulous new Jack Grelle album.

Courtney Marie Andrews – How Quickly Your Heart Mends (video)

I really love the new Courtney Marie Andrews album Honest Life. Definitely an album of the year contender. Only thing left to decide is which year. In the US it came out couple of months ago on Mama Bird Recording Co, but the UK/Europe release will be on Loose Music in January 2017. Damn these different release dates even though I’m sure there are some very understandable reasons behind them. Anyway, the album is brilliant and a huge favourite of mine. There’s also a brand new video for the song How Quickly Your Heart Mends. Watch that below and after that I also highly recommend checking out this recent KEXP Session.

The Burning Hell have a new music video for the song The Stranger. The song is an outtake from their gorgeous 2016 album Public Library that came out in the spring on BB*Island / Headless Owl Records. Angus Rowe MacPherson directed this video for the song.

Dan Edmonds – Ladies on the Corner

Dan Edmonds – Ladies on the Corner (Missed Connection Records, 2016)

A pretty great Canadian band Harlan Pepper broke up a while back. Probably just few months after your ignorant blogger finally found them. Might have actually been better, if I had not found them though, because at the moment onechord.net seems to be using the motto from one of their songs. The song went something like “let it slide / that’s my motto / it hasn’t done me much good” and that sums up what I’ve been doing lately. That’s why I still haven’t written about this beauty of an album. Dan Edmonds was the frontman of Harlan Pepper and he is still writing wonderful songs. New and excellent solo album Ladies On The Corner came out October 7th on Missed Connection Records. Here’s a video for the song To Be That Needle and my personal favourite from the album Can’t Stop Thinking.

Aaron Lee Tasjan – Silver Tears (New West Records, 2016)

I’ve been eagerly waiting for this one. The first outtake Little Movies dropped me on my knees a few months ago and because I wasn’t able to get up, I’ve spent the past weeks mostly looking up to the sky waiting for the cosmic ALT cowboy to come and pick me up with his new album Silver Tears. The day arrived last Friday 28th of October when the new Aaron Lee Tasjan album came out on New West Records. The vinyl didn’t arrive to the local store in time, so I only have this spotify thingy for the time being, but I’m already so loving this album. Americana, country, rock’n’roll & blues, but also Beatles and Randy too. Sure might almost feel like a mess, but if that’s the case then damn if it isn’t the sweetest kind of mess I can think of and a beautiful monster of an album. Works wonderfully from first chord to last word. Well done Aaron.

Itä-Hollola Installaatio – Tyttöystävä (single)

I don’t even seem to have enough time to listen to music let alone write about it. Well other than this short midnight entry about Itä-Hollola Installaatio, because I freaking love this so much. New single Tyttöystävä is out now on Sound Of Finland. You can hear that beauty on any of those stream thingies. It’s damn good and some of the other stuff that is on Youtube and Bandcamp is even better. Whether it’s the band or Robert Ensio Niemistö solo, it’s all so good. Why the hell it took me so long to start listening to this kid? The man is like a genius.
